Norbert(a)

Norbert(a) follows Norberto and María, a married couple living an ordinary life in their working-class neighborhood. To supplement their meager incomes, Norberto dresses as a woman and carries out petty robberies while Maria waits in the getaway car. Norberto later confesses to Maria that the disguise reflects his true self. At 65, Norberto struggles for acceptance but needs help to pull off a major heist—robbing a bingo parlor to fund his sex-change operation. Combining the sensitivity of Transparent with the adventures of a generous working-class Bonnie and Clyde, Norbert(a) is a provocative, warm, irreverent, and emotional story with lovable characters.
